From the vibrant cabarets of Berlin to the bright lights of Broadway, discover the extraordinary journey of Kurt Weill, one of the 20th century’s most fascinating composers.
Blending storytelling, history, and live performance, this musical lecture explores Weill’s life, exile, and artistic reinvention, tracing his path from Germany to America and the music that shaped his legacy.
The lecture will be presented by Canto faculty member Maurice Lugassy, cultural scholar and educator from France and Director of the JCC of Toulouse, whose engaging approach brings history and music vividly to life.
Featuring live performances of some of Weill’s most beloved songs by a Canto Vocal Programs artist. Join us for an entertaining and enlightening evening!
