Summary of Position:
The Pozez JCC seeks an experienced candidate for our Aquatics Director position. This person will be responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the operations of the Aquatics Programming at the JCC, including, but not limited to, swim programs and lessons, managing aquatics staff, and developing new and exciting programming as part of the Health, Fitness, Aquatics and Membership Department.

Essential Position Duties:
• Develop aquatics programs and special events
• Manage the operation, maintenance, security and repair of the Aquatics facilities and its equipment
• Manage and coordinate operating budget for the Aquatics facility
• Manage revenue producing programs and activities
• Develop Aquatics budget for fiscal year including all revenues and expenses
• Control expenditures in accordance with approved budget
• Manage all aquatics programs (private swim lessons, group classes, preschool/after school swim lessons, free swim, etc.)
• Recruit, hire, organize, direct, and coordinate aquatics staff

• Oversee the records of payroll hours for HFAM staff

Summary of Position:

Essential Position Duties:
• Balances fun and safety at the pool.
• Creates and facilitates individualized development for swimmers aged 0-99+ in group and
individual settings.
• Responsible for using our scheduling software to check out swim lessons, note client arrival, or
note no shows/cancellations. Will also use our scheduling software to provide their availability
for work.
• Serves as primary contact for private and semi private swim clients, which means they will use a
JCC email account to communicate with their lesson participants once assigned.
• Work as part of a team to ensure participant safety by avoiding distractions and reporting
potentially unsafe situations to the lifeguard on duty.
• May be called up if regular instructor for a group class or lesson is absent.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
• Experience working with children ages 6-16
• Six months or more experience working with youth in a sports setting and/or swim
• lesson instruction
• Swim Instructor certification strongly preferred
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification

Job Description:
The Personal Trainer is responsible for providing quality Personal Training and designed to meet the
needs of our members here at the Pozez JCC. Outside of their Personal Trainer position, J-Fit trainers
have the flexibility to pick up additional fitness staffing opportunities which include, but are not limited
to, group exercise classes, on-site clinics & workshops, and floor hours. The Personal Trainer reports to
the Fitness Director.

Qualifications:
• College degree in exercise science or related field preferred
• Certification in one of the following preferred: National Association of Sports Medicine
(NASM), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council of Exercise (ACE),
American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA), Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) or other
approved nationally accredited organization
• Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Job Description:
The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for providing quality fitness programs and classes designed to meet the
needs of our members at the Pozez JCC. Must be comfortable teaching a variety of classes.
Outside of their Fitness Instructor position, J-Fit Instructors have the flexibility to pick up additional fitness staffing
opportunities which include, but are not limited to, personal training, private specialty training, small group training,
and on-site workshops. The Fitness Instructor reports to the Fitness Coordinator.

Qualifications:
• Group Exercise Certification or equally relevant experience
• Must be well-organized, punctual, and prepared when scheduled to instruct class
• Must be able to think independently and develop routines for teaching specific exercise classes
• Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury

Main Responsibilities:
• Establishing and maintaining a safe environment for exercising
• Arriving to teach class in advance of the scheduled time to greet participants, answer questions and address
concerns

Position Summary:
The Support Staff is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with J-Fit
programs, and other administrative responsibilities. The Support Staff reports directly to the Fitness
Facilities Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned on-duty procedures
- Greet members upon entering the Health Club
- Cleaning and organizing the fitness center
- Upkeep of towels
- Assisting fitness class instructors and programs
- Assisting members with use of the equipment
- Provide fitness orientations to members

- Email and call members
- Promotes J-Fit programs/activities and discuss other department programs that may assist

The Pozez Jewish Community Center (The J) seeks Support Staff to work at Camp Kesher. Camp Kesher is a camp for neuro-divergent teens and young adults. The camp participants go on daily field trips. The camp provides opportunities to build self-esteem, social competence, independence skills, self-awareness and to foster positive relationships. Support staff will help the participants enjoy the camp trips and activities by interacting with all participants, helping them to socialize, stay on task, helping with behavior modification, redirecting when needed, and helping the participants to have a positive experience as they interact with peers and engage in a variety of activities.

The Pozez JCC requires the talents and skills of an experienced Membership Associate.

The successful candidate should be outgoing with a persuasive attitude, excellent customer relations skills and able to improve sales while facilitating lasting bonds with our membership base. This role requires confident speaking skills in front of small and larger groups, and also many different types of environments. This person will undertake prospecting and lead generation, meeting sales quotas, customer service and community outreach. Within a collaborative, team-oriented environment, the Membership Associate will work toward meeting membership monthly goals.

Responsibilities

  • Implement retention strategies to increase loyalty and retain membership.
  • Promote membership benefits and discounts to all members and non-members on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain up-to-date marketing material including new member packages, information racks and inform
  • Membership Director when supplies are running low.
  • Work with all departments to ensure programmatic information is shared correctly across the organization.

Summary of Position: 
Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia (the J) seeks a highly motivated, creative, and outgoing individual to direct our ReelAbilities Film Festival: Northern Virginia, which takes place each February, is dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories, and artistic expressions of people with disabilities. The director works year-round contributing to the direction and presentation of the J’s beloved and much anticipated film festival, now entering its 12th year.

To build community and connections and to ensure an inclusive festival, the director will collaborate with other JCC departments, including the Inclusion and Disabilities Services and Adult Services. In addition, over the years, the festival has partnered with dozens of cultural and direct-service organizations across the DMV as well as faith-based communities to bring stigma smashing films to a diverse audience in person and online.

  • Drive the film selection process and staff the volunteer festival committee: Research and disseminate screeners for festival committee members and track incoming evaluations.
  • Maintain existing and foster new positive relationships with ReelAbilities International staff, filmmakers and distributors with open communication and timely payment of screening fees.
  • Populate and maintain internal and external event calendars for all meetings and programs
  • Coordinate volunteer involvement by planning, creating agendas for, and staffing virtual Festival Committee Meetings.
  • Recruit and train volunteers as needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all volunteer committee members
  • Continue cultivating an audience for the festival from within the J’s membership as well as the community at large
  • Work with the J’s Marketing & Communications team to increase public awareness, commanding a social media presence, assist in writing media releases, and conducting artist and community interviews
  • Work with the J’s Development Staff to identify and cultivate individual, corporate, government, and foundation funding sources
  • Coordinate with venues, post-film speakers, and other guests, creating contracts, booking travel & lodging, and gathering publicity materials
  • Participate in major functions at the J as well as functions and occasional meetings for other agencies with whom we partner, when in the service of advancing the festival
  • Create and actively promote a comfortable and welcoming environment where every participant and colleague is treated with dignity and respect in a friendly, radically inclusive, and personal manner
  • Anticipate and be responsive to patrons' needs and requests
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed

Compensation and Benefits: 
$13,000 annually
