Calling All Artists: The J’s Open Exhibition

The J is seeking fine art and craft to display during our Open Exhibition! All artists affiliated with the J (members, staff, guests) are encouraged to apply.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

• Submit up to three (3) artworks for consideration
• All artworks must be ready to hang (framed and wired, under 25lbs) or 3D works no larger than 2’W/2’H/1’D to be displayed in glass showcases
• Artworks must be for sale with pricing not to exceed $1,000
• The theme and/or subject matter must be appropriate for young children (no violence, illicit substances, nudity, politics, etc.)
• The $18 submission fee must be paid by the deadline (November 24, 2024)
• Each item selected for the exhibit must be delivered with identification noting: artist’s name, title, medium, price
• Your participation includes permission for the J to photograph the exhibition for publicity or educational purposes and the photographs will remain the property of the J
• The J takes a 30% commission of art sales. Artists receive a check for 70% of sales within four weeks of conclusion of the exhibition
• Sold artworks may be picked up by the buyer on or within one week of January 21, 2025. No exceptions.
• You will be responsible for removing and packing your artwork at the conclusion of the exhibition

DATES AND DEADLINES:

Application Deadline: November 24, 2024
Notification of participation: November 25, 2024 (via email)
Artwork delivery date: December 2, 2019 – between 8:30am and noon
Artwork pickup date: January 21, 2025 – between 9am and 6pm – Please bring wrapping materials at pick up
