Do you like to sing? Are you interested in singing Jewish songs? If so, join the JCC Community Choir – Makheylah! This is a great opportunity to connect musically to the Jewish tradition. The choir is open to high schoolers, college students, and adults of all ages in Northern Virginia. All singing abilities are welcome! Our choir has something for everyone; experienced singers will receive advanced material, singers with moderate choral or vocal background will be well-engaged, and those who just hum a little will fit right in!
Our repertoire ranges from secular to religious and includes synagogue music, Yiddish theater, folksongs, and Israeli songs. We sing in various languages, too: Hebrew, English, Yiddish, Ladino, and others. The session will culminate in a short performance or two (tbd). Questions? Please contact Shari.Berman@theJ.org or Rosesntune@aol.com.
