Do you like to sing? Are you interested in singing Jewish songs? If so, join Makheylah — the JCC Community Choir! This is a great opportunity to connect musically to the Jewish tradition.
The choir is open to high schoolers, college students, and adults of all ages in Northern Virginia. All singing abilities are welcome! Our choir has something for everyone; experienced singers will receive advanced material, singers with moderate choral or vocal background will be well-engaged, and those who just hum a little will fit right in!
Our repertoire ranges from secular to religious and encompasses a wide range of Jewish music. We have sung liturgical music, Yiddish theater songs and folksongs, Ladino selections, Israeli pop songs – so much to choose from! We present short performances (tbd), too. Come – let’s sing!
Note: Please bring a white 3-ring binder to each rehearsal for sheet music.
