On the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, join us for an evening of remembrance through music. Acclaimed Hungarian pianist Klára Würtz will perform a varied classical program that includes pieces chosen to honor the memory of that night. After the performance, she will take questions from the audience. Come for a moving evening of marvelous music and meaningful memorial.

Klára Würtz bio:
Hungarian-born pianist Klára Würtz is an acclaimed international performer known for her interpretations of Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Bartók, and Debussy. Born in Budapest in 1965, she began playing piano at age five and soon demonstrated exceptional talent. She studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy with Zoltán Kocsis, György Kurtág and Ferenc Rados, and later attended master classes with András Schiff.
Würtz won first prize at the 1985 Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition and was a prize winner at the 1988 Dublin International Piano Competition. From 1991 onward, she established a strong presence in North America, performing at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Ravinia Festival. She teaches at her Alma Mater: the Liszt Academy in Budapest.
Her extensive discography includes recordings for Brilliant Classics, Globe, and Regis Records. Among her notable projects is a complete recording of Mozart’s piano sonatas, released by Brilliant Classics in 2005, as well as recordings of works by Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninov, and Bartók. In 2011, she recorded Schubert’s Impromptus.
