Jimbo Jay: Music, Humor and Life in the Gaza Envelope

Saturday, May 18 @ 7:30 pm

Doors open, wine, and light appetizers – 7:30pm

Performance – 8pm

Jimbo Jay, Omar Havron, is a versatile artist, blending rap, singing, and poetry to capture the essence of Israeli culture. His music has resonated with households across Israel, reflecting his love for Hebrew, humor, and a deep connection to the country, particularly the Gaza envelope where he resides. Through his artistry, Jimbo addresses pressing issues with sincerity, turning them into uplifting and emotionally resonant songs.

During the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th, Jimbo found himself at home with his wife and two daughters. They spent 10 harrowing hours in a bomb shelter before safely escaping the affected area. This traumatic experience deeply impacted Jimbo, echoing the sentiments felt by the entire nation of Israel. Subsequently, it infused many of his songs with newfound depth and perspective, shedding light on the resilience and solidarity of the Israeli people.

We are privileged to have him here, in Northern Virginia, for a conversation and a performance about his art and himself.

Listen to Jimbo Jay’s music on YouTube here and stream on Spotify here.

$25 Includes wine and light appetizers
