Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer part time care?
The ECLC only offers a full-time pricing model, but families are welcome to drop off or pick up anytime during hours of operation.

What does drop off/pickup look like?
There is no set drop off or pickup time. Families may utilize our program at any time during our hours of operation.

When coming in for drop off or pickup, families will enter through the main entrance before entering the ECLC side of the building. During drop off or pickup families will check children in or out before doing hand off with an educator.

Does the school provide food?
ECLC will provide a morning and afternoon snack for children aged 16 months and older. This snack will follow FDA recommendations and VA State Licensing requirements. Families will be required to send in a dairy, pareve or vegetarian (no meat) lunch for their child. Families of children younger than 16 months of
age should send in their child’s food for the day including bottles (either pre-made or empty to be used with frozen breastmilk which can be stored on site).

Additional information on how to send in lunches, the dating of food, etc. will be provided in the parent handbook upon registration. Please note that it is expected that children will have eaten breakfast before being dropped off to ensure they are able to begin their school day set up for success.

What does communication look like during the school day?
Daily communication will be sent to families through the Remini app regarding children’s daily needs (eating, napping, diaper changing, etc. based on their age) as well as daily Storyboards which will highlight learning moments from the day. Individual phone calls or video calls are encouraged and welcome. Family check-in meetings will be offered multiple times throughout the school year.

Does my child need to be toilet trained?
No. Toilet training is a process that is different for every family. Our educators work with families directly to determine each child’s needs.

How secure is the building?
We take safety very seriously . While we are located in a community center, the ECLC has restricted access.

Do you offer a sibling discount?
Yes, there is a 5% sibling discount on the lowest fee.

Do we need to join the JCC? What does it include?
To enroll in the ECLC families are required to obtain a JCC household membership. This membership includes access to the gym and pool and member pricing for events and other programs within the JCC.
