Ready to take charge of your diabetes? Join us for six weekly classes and a two month reunion to learn how nutrition and physical activity can support Type 2 Diabetes management. In a supportive group setting, participants will build practical skills for lasting lifestyle change through interactive presentations, strengthbuilding exercises, and cooking demonstrations. Join us and take control of your health!
This program is open to individuals with a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes and/or an A1C above 7.
Fee: Complimentary; Registration required. Donations to Pozez JCC are greatly appreciated.
Instructor’s Bio: Leah Turton is a Registered Dietitian working as a Family and Consumer Sciences Agent for Virginia Cooperative Extension in Fairfax County. She earned her Master of Public Health from George Washington University and completed her B.S. in Dietetics at James Madison University. She has a passion for preventing and treating chronic diseases with nourishing meals across the lifespan.
