Service as a Mitzvah: Honoring Those Who Serve
Sunday, November 8 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Join us for an afternoon of learning, gratitude, and hands-on service as we explore what it means to serve others.
Inspired by Veterans Day and the Jewish values of service, this family-friendly program will explore ways people serve their communities in the United States and Israel.
Participants will learn about the tradition of service in both countries and discover how service to others can be a meaningful mitzvah.
Together, children and families will take action by creating Hanukkah care packages for American & Israeli soldiers. Participants are encouraged to bring a pair of new socks to include in the care packages.
This special afternoon will be presented in partnership with FIDF and ‘Swords of Iron’ and will offer children ages 8+ and their parents an opportunity to learn, create, give back, and express gratitude to those who serve.
This program is free. RSVP required. We hope that you will support the Shlichut program and Israel engagement programs here: https://give.thej.org/campaign/723271/donate
