Freilach – A Celebration of Jewish and Eastern-European Music

The J is pleased to bring back Marcolivia Duo comprised of award-winning violin/viola soloists, Marc Ramirez and Olivia Hajioff – whose repertoire includes music from all periods and various styles, including their own arrangements. This special Pozez JCC program will include music by Jewish composers of Israeli, Russian, Ukrainian, and Hungarian descent, closing with a set of fantastic Klezmer pieces arranged by the inimitable Aleksey Igudesman. The Duo’s presentations always include informal, amusing, and educational discussions of the music and are accessible to all audiences. If you are looking for a wonderful afternoon of musical entertainment mixed with artistic discourse, you won’t want to miss this performance!

Bio: The Marcolivia Duo have been Virginia Arts Commission Touring Roster Artists for over 15 years. Although classically trained, they perform music of all styles, including folk, blues, bebop, jazz, Latin, chamber, and others.
