The course will cover meal preparation, including reading recipes, measuring, and food safety, in addition to providing information on adapted cooking tools and techniques. The class is based on the book, “Teaching Authentic Cooking Skills to Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities: Active Engagement” by Janice Goldschmidt.
Before the start of the class, participants will receive the virtual link, recipes, and a list of tools. A weekly shopping list of the ingredients needed for that Sunday’s class will be sent to participants. The cooking demonstration will be recorded and sent out to all participants.
