Gather and Grow: Apple Picking in Northern Virginia

Fall is calling, and we are answering! This year we are heading to Great Country Farms for a day of apple picking, farm fun, and community connection in the gorgeous Blue Ridge foothills. Due to this winter’s freeze affecting local orchards, we have found a wonderful new home for our annual outing and we think you are going to love it.
Great Country Farms is a working family farm bursting with fall magic: apple and pumpkin picking, a corn maze, farm animals, a jump pillow, slides, wagon rides, and so much more. During Apple Gala and Cider Fest season, there is truly something for every age from the littlest ones to grandparents and everyone in between. Come hungry, come curious, and come ready for a full day outside.
What is included:
A $15 per person wristband covers all farm fun and our special High Holiday activities with the group. Children under 3 are free. Apples are picked and paid for separately while you are at the farm. This is a full day the farm is open to us from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, so take your time and enjoy every bit of it.
Finding us:
Meet the Growing Jewish Families group at the giant cow from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM for wristband pickup and group activity information. Arriving at a different time? No problem just contact us in advance and we will make sure you are taken care of.
A few notes:
- Please bring your own picnic blanket or camp chairs for outdoor seating.
- We will not have a group photographer this year, so bring your own cameras to capture the memories.
- If the cost of attendance is a barrier for your family, please reach out to us privately, we never want cost to be the reason a family cannot join us.
