Unveiling Her: Israeli Women through Cinema and Television – Arlington
Sunday, April 26 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Location: Congregation Etz Hayim – 2920 Arlington Blvd, Arlington
Join us for a focused workshop exploring Israeli women through scenes from Israeli cinema and television. The evening will be facilitated by Chen Sara Mordechai-Kedar, Pozez JCC’s Community Shlicha. The program highlights diverse voices and untold stories shaped by Israel’s culture, society, and history.
Through guided clips and discussion, we’ll look at how Israeli women navigate family, community, career, activism, and tradition-and reflect together on the balance between personal truth and societal expectations in Israel.
Speaker: Chen Sara brings with her an impressive background in community building, informal education and leadership. She most recently served as Education Coordinator at the TEN Center in Cambodia (Jewish Agency) leading global Jewish volunteer programs and advancing Israel advocacy. She also worked as the Assistant City Engineer for the Municipality of Be’er Sheva. Chen holds an M.A. in Sustainable Communities and a B.A. in Political Science and African Studies both from Ben Gurion University.
This program is free. RSVP required. We hope that you will support the Shlichut program and Israel engagement programs here.
