Camp Achva runs for 6 fun-packed weeks during the summer. We believe that it takes time to become part of any community, which is why we have developed the 3-week model of inclusive camping to support building community, fostering personal growth and development, and creating connections with others and to Camp Achva itself.

New! In the summer of 2024, Camp Achva is offering flexible week registration with a minimum sign up of 3 weeks. Each week will be filled with themed activities, dress up days, special events, and, on certain weeks, field trips. We invite our campers to get the most out of the camping experience and register for the full 6 weeks offered during the summer!

Note: Pozez JCC J-Family Household membership is required to attend camp.

Camp Achva is thrilled to be able to offer transportation from a variety of locations this summer:

  • Beth El Hebrew Congregation in Alexandria and Adat Reyim Congregation in Springfield
  • Pozez Jewish Community Center in Fairfax
  • Etz Chayim in Arlington and Nottoway Park in Vienna

    Please note, space on the bus is limited. Register early to ensure a spot for your camper(s).

Pozez JCC Membership includes access to our popular J-Fit Health Club, which includes a 25-meter indoor heated lap pool, HIIT studio, full court gymnasium, over 25 fitness classes offered weekly, eligibility to sign up for personal training (fees apply) as well as an outdoor turf area for functional fitness. Additionally, membership also includes recreational programs such as Ping Pong, Pickleball, Adult Learning and Engagement opportunities and cards and games.

Priority Registration: Registrations are processed in the order in which they are received. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Limited Enrollment: Each week has a fixed maximum number of campers that can be accommodated. Parents will be notified if they are put on a waitlist. For the safety of our campers, enrollment cannot be expanded beyond capacity. Please register early to ensure your placement. There is a separate waitlist for each camp week. Slots are filled as space becomes available for each week. All programs are contingent upon minimum enrollment and adequate staffing.

Registration Fee: A $50, one-time per camper, non-refundable registration fee must accompany each registration.

Deposits & Tuition: A $50 per week per child deposit per child is required with each registration. Deposits will be applied towards total camp fees (deducted from total/final tuition amount). Registration fees & deposits can be paid with either a credit card or through EFT.

Camp tuition fees may be paid by credit card or EFT. A 3% processing fee will be charged for all credit card transactions, and no fee if paid by EFT. Delinquent invoices (paid 7 days, or more, after the deadline) will be charged a 5% late fee. If your financial institution declines your EFT, the Pozez JCC will assess a $50 fee. Camp deposits and tuition are non-refundable. Any change in payment method must be submitted in writing by email to Rachel.Dannick@theJ.org by April 30, 2024.
See Cancellation Policy below for more details. Total fees and required documents are due by April 30, 2024. Registrations received after April 30, 2024, must be accompanied by all documents and full payment upon receipt.

Registration Changes:¬†If a participant wishes to make changes to their registration after their registration has already been submitted, a $50 administrative fee will apply until April 30, 2024. A $100 administrative fee will be applied to changes made between May 1 ‚Äď May 30, 2024. A $150 administrative fee will be applied to any changes made after June 1, 2024.

Cancellation Policy: Camp deposits, registration fees, and tuition is non-refundable. In the event a family must cancel their registration, a written request must be submitted to the Camp Director.

Camp Documents:¬†All camp forms and documents MUST be submitted in full by April 30, 2024. Should you register after April 30, 2024, all forms and documents MUST be received in full at the time of registration. This includes ‚ÄėProof of Birth‚Äô and full School Entrance Health Form record of up-to-date immunizations (no exemptions to immunizations accepted). No camper can attend camp without up-to-date forms and necessary documents on file as per Virginia State Licensing. Please see the FAQ page to learn more about forms/documents needed to attend Camp Achva.
