First Friday Book Group Meeting + Special Author Program (Hybrid)
Friday, March 1 @ 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Do you like to read and discuss books? If so, this JCC special interest group is for you! In March, we are thrilled to host local author Sarah Birnbach at the J. Sarah will speak about her book, “A Daughter’s Kaddish: My Year of Grief, Devotion and Healing” – how and why she came to write it, her experience of finding community during her mourning period, and how being with community can enhance healing no matter the type of grief we face.
In addition to her book, Sarah will talk about her recent 2-week trip to Israel as a volunteer with Sar-El, an organization which supports IDF soldiers. Sarah is such a wonderful writer and speaker, that we are opening the program to all who would like to attend. If you’ve never been to a FFBG meeting and/or are interested in Sarah’s yearlong journey of saying kaddish for her father, come at 11:30am. If you would like to hear about Sarah’s Israel experience, come at 12:15pm. All are welcome!
A book sale and signing will take place at the conclusion of the presentations.
