The Annual Ruth Spector Memorial Mah Jongg Tournament is a favorite JCC fall event, now in its 18th (chai) year! The tournament offers a light brunch, three rounds of play, yummy snacks, prizes for the top winners, and raffles. Join us for an afternoon of food, friendly competition, and fun!
Designated Game Sections are selected at the time of registration.
Recreational Games Section:
The Recreational Section (limited to 6 tables) is for players who are new to American Mah Jongg (learned the game in the last year) and would like to participate in a less-competitive atmosphere (3 games in a 50-minute period).
Competitive Games Section:
The Competitive Section is for experienced players who will play 4 games in the same 50-minute time period.
Registration must be received by close of business on Monday, November 9. No walk-ins permitted, however a waiting list with alternates will be formed. Rules will be sent out ahead of the tournament.
Each player is required to bring a 2026 NMJL card.
Mah Jongg sets (white or light tiles, no stickered tiles are preferred) and table mats are greatly appreciated.
Fee: $60 Members/$65 Non-members (includes brunch, snacks and tournament fee)
Volunteers are needed for the event. Ages 16+. To Volunteer/Questions? Contact Shari.Berman@theJ.org or 703.537.3068.
