Tuesday, June 17 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Join us for a screening of the film “October 8th” which explores the impact in the U.S. of the terrorist events in Israel on October 7, 2023. Following the screening, there will be an opportunity to join discussion circles focused on different aspects of that impact in our own community and exploring possible responses.
Discussion topics include:
• How to have difficult conversations with our friends, colleagues and neighbors about October 7th and beyond?
• How can we support our students? Stories from Northern Virginia students
• What can each of us do from a legislative standpoint to help with the current crisis?
If you’re interested in seeing the movie, looking for answers to any of these questions, or both, please join us!
“October 8th” offers a look at the explosion of antisemitism on college campuses, social media and in the streets of America beginning the day after the October 7th attack on Israel by Hamas. Through meticulous investigation, the film also uncovers how over decades, Hamas created sophisticated networks in America to permeate U.S. institutions and examines the tsunami of online antisemitism, propaganda, and disinformation unleashed by Iran, China and Russia – with the sole purpose of dividing American society.
