Esther’s Wisdom: A Blueprint for Women Leaders

Monday, March 10 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Between International Women’s Day and Purim, we invite all ladies of Northern Virginia to explore Queen Esther’s leadership to become even more courageous, purposeful, and successful leaders. During this powerful workshop, we will explore some Jewish texts with Zina Segal (Pozez JCC Sr. Director, Community Impact and Engagement) and learn leadership skills with Priscilla Askenas (Leadership Coach). Through practical exercises and reflective discussions, participants will embrace their unique strengths, build meaningful connections, and step into their own “Esther moment” to inspire change and create a lasting legacy.

Wine and appetizers provided.

Fee: $18 in advance, $25 at the door

Speaker Bios:
Priscilla Askenas
is an international law, governance, and foreign policy expert. She played a pivotal role in identifying workable solutions to counter violent extremism, strengthening governance and safety of Women in Africa.

Priscilla believes that the key to making empowered decisions is to align our values and goals to how we “show up.” It’s what makes us better leaders, better parents, better partners and enables us to operate at the fullest of our potential. Priscilla worked at the Special Court for Sierra Leone in The Hague, in the support of the trial against Charles Taylor. She acted as a Strategic Advisor to investors in emerging markets in Africa. She holds an BA from McGill University, an MSc. in Development and Planning from University College London, and a Law degree from the University of London (College of Law, Guildford).

Priscilla is a businesswoman, mother, wife, board member and champion of Women’s empowerment. She is a certified professional coach (CPC ELI-MP) with a focus on female leaders, and a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Zina Segal, Pozez JCC Sr. Director of Community Impact and Engagement, is inspired by the J’s goal of creating multiple gates to Jewish Peoplehood for people of all kinds of identities. She holds an MA in Digital Humanities from SPb State University and an MA in Leadership in Jewish Education and Communal Service from Towson University.

As a life-long learner and Jewish educator, Zina believes in the magic of learning Jewish text together. When a group of curious minds come together (with food and wine) to explore Jewish stories – phenomenal things happen: we meet ourselves, others and Jewish heroes of the past and come up with incredible insights about our present and future!
