10th Annual Jewish Playwriting Contest
Sunday, March 9 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
This one-of-a-kind event is a combination of a TED Talk, a play reading and American Idol. Each of the three plays is introduced by a video from each playwright, then 20-minute excerpts are read by a group of stellar DC actors, and then the audience gets to vote on a winner!
The Contest is part of the Jewish Play Project’s wider effort to promote Artistic Democracy – investing a wide range of artists and audience members in choosing the best of new Jewish culture. The Contest has received and vetted more than 1,850 plays by 1,200 writers in 32 states and 9 countries since 2011. The Pozez JCC is proud to bring this event to our stage in 2025 for the tenth year!
