DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Washington (JGSGW)A box found among the ashes of a house fire launches Linda Broenniman on a quest to discover the truth behind her family’s biggest secret – that her Catholic father was actually Jewish. Today\, a permanent exhibition of the same name resides on the 3rd floor of the Rumbach Synagogue in Budapest! \n\n\n\nJoin author Linda Broenniman as she brings each character to life with luminescent clarity in her poignant narrative. JGSGW VP of Programs\, Mary-Jane Roth\, will interview Linda about her diligent research to uncover her Jewish ancestry. Light refreshments will be served. A book sale and signing will take place after the presentation.Fee: Included for J-Family\, J-Journey and JGSGW Members; $10 all othersAuthor’s Bio: Linda Ambrus Broenniman grew up in Buffalo\, NY. She is the middle child of seven born to Hungarian physicians who survived World War II and started a new life in the U.S. in 1949. A graduate of Swarthmore College with a BA in psychology\, Broenniman went onto get an MBA from Carnie Mellon. Several years after graduation\, she left mainstream corporate America to follow her path as an entrepreneur and let her passion for uncovering hidden potential in unexpected places guide her to uncover her family’s secret past.
