Sarah will speak about her book\, “A Daughter’s Kaddish: My Year of Grief\, Devotion and Healing” – how and why she came to write it\, her experience of finding community during her mourning period\, and how being with community can enhance healing no matter the type of grief we face. \n\n\n\nIn addition to her book\, Sarah will talk about her recent 2-week trip to Israel as a volunteer with Sar-El\, an organization which supports IDF soldiers. DESCRIPTION:Pre-registered participants only. No walk-ins. \n\n\n\nThe Pozez JCC has hosted several blood drives to help our County replenish its critically low supply. Every day\, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims\, heart surgery and organ transplant patients\, and those battling cancer. In fact\, every two seconds\, someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is likely that you or someone you know will need a blood transfusion in your lifetime. Last year\, drives hosted by the Pozez JCC collected 113 units of blood. Our goal this year is to collect more than 125 units of blood and you can help meet our goal! \n\n\n\nThe blood donation process from the time you arrive until the time you leave takes about an hour. The donation itself is only about 8-10 minutes on average. In order to qualify for whole blood donation\, you must be in good health and feeling well\, at least 16 years of age (with signed parental consent) and weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional eligibility criteria apply\, including certain medications\, medical conditions\, travel to certain countries\, and personal history.
