DESCRIPTION:WSIG is a place for women of all ages and stages to turn their passions into purpose\, making a positive social impact in the community. All are welcome! \n\n\n\nIn April\, we will visit the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in Alexandria. *Meet at the JCC Lobby to carpool to the center at 10am. The center is a few blocks away from the King St. – Old Town Metro. First\, we’ll tour the center followed by an opportunity to ask questions. After the tour we will have lunch nearby at Tequila & Taco (on our own tab).  \n\n\n\nYou must register in advance for this field trip! The NCMEC needs to have a list of names one week in advance; registration deadline is: 4/7. Students must be comfortable with the Hebrew alphabet to learn the rudiments of reading. (Yiddish is phonetic and much easier than Hebrew.)Participants will study classic Yiddish stories to learn a significant amount of vocabulary\, useful phrases\, how to ask essential questions\, and how to read Yiddish. Jokes\, proverbs\, songs\, and even a few curse words will be included; however\, this is not a conversational Yiddish course.
