SUMMARY:Survived to Tell: A Virtual Reality Nova Memorial Experience
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the generous support of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington\, the Pozez JCC is honored to present Survived to Tell\, a groundbreaking Virtual Reality (VR) experience. Using innovative technology\, participants will hear firsthand testimonials from survivors of the Nova Music Festival and virtually visit the memorial built at the site in Israel. This powerful program offers a new way to engage with memory and connect to stories of resilience. \n\n\n\nThe program is brought to us by IsraelIS\, a leading Israeli nonprofit known for creating meaningful\, innovative experiences that strengthen Jewish identity and connections to Israel worldwide. Through their VR platform\, they bring stories and places to life in ways that inspire lasting understanding and engagement. \n\n\n\nDue to technical constraints\, participation is limited to 24 people. The event is free\, and an RSVP is required. Help us support the Shlichut and Israel Engagement program by donating upon registration. \n\n\n\nImmediately following the VR experience\, you can proceed to the Voices from Re’im: Community\, Resilience\, and Hope event. \n\n\n\nClick here for additional programs in commemoration of October 7.

SUMMARY:Voices from Re’im: Community\, Resilience\, and Hope
DESCRIPTION:The Pozez JCC is honored to welcome Zohar Livne Mizrahi\, Secretary General of Kibbutz Re’im\, for a moving and insightful conversation. The new partnership between Kibbutz Re’im and the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington is helping connect our local community to Re’im’s recovery and rebuilding efforts following October 7. Kibbutz Re’im\, located near the site of the Nova Music Festival\, became a place of unimaginable tragedy on that day and has since become a symbol of resilience\, community\, and renewal. \n\n\n\nIn this special program\, Zohar will share her perspective as a leader guiding her community through loss\, recovery\, and rebuilding. Participants will have the opportunity to hear firsthand about life in Re’im today\, the challenges of moving forward\, and the spirit of strength and hope that continues to define the kibbutz. \n\n\n\nZohar’s visit to the DMV is part of Federation’s ongoing commitment to strengthen the bond between Greater Washington and our Israeli partner communities\, fostering understanding\, healing\, and hope through shared stories and experiences. This event\, in particular offers a unique chance to engage with stories of courage and resilience while bearing witness through both conversation and immersive technology.” \n\n\n\nThe event is free. RSVP required. Please help us support the Shlichut and Israel Engagement program by donating upon registration. \n\n\n\nThis event immediately follows Survived to Tell: A Virtual Reality Nova Memorial Experience. \n\n\n\nIn partnership with Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. \n\n\n\nClick here for additional programs in commemoration of October 7.
