SUMMARY:Green Spring Gardens Tour & Tea
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we visit beautiful Green Spring Gardens Park for a 50-minute master gardener docent-led tour of the wonderful demonstration gardens. This will be followed by a traditional British tea\, including assorted tea sandwiches\, pastries\, scone\, cream & jam\, in the 1784 Historic House. (Learn more here: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/green-spring/historic-house)   \n\n\n\nAs we are fortunate to have this lovely plantation estate located practically in our backyard (only 5 miles from the J)\, we will be driving ourselves instead of taking a bus. Carpooling is a great option. \n\n\n\nMeet at the main visitor center – the Horticulture Center – for the tour at 12:50pm. Please be prompt. The garden tours take place rain or shine\, so please dress for the weather. Free parking on site. \n\n\n\nNote: The trip is limited to 38 participants on a first come\, first served basis. Register now! Cancellation policy for this trip: 100% before April 17th\, 75% after April 17th.

SUMMARY:Yiddish 1: A Taste of Yiddish Continued – Spring Session (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Beginners and those with a little knowledge are welcome!  We will review the Hebrew alphabet and learn the rudiments of reading. (Yiddish is phonetic and much easier than Hebrew). We will study a primary-grade Yiddish book and converse about it in Yiddish. We’ll also learn to say useful phrases and how to ask important questions   Jokes\, proverbs\, songs\, and even a few curse words\, will not be ignored. Study materials will be provided via email and Word documents\, in Hebrew letters as well as in transliteration.
