SUMMARY:Yiddish 1: A Taste of Yiddish Continued – Spring Session (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Beginners and those with a little knowledge are welcome!  We will review the Hebrew alphabet and learn the rudiments of reading. (Yiddish is phonetic and much easier than Hebrew). We will study a primary-grade Yiddish book and converse about it in Yiddish. We’ll also learn to say useful phrases and how to ask important questions   Jokes\, proverbs\, songs\, and even a few curse words\, will not be ignored. Study materials will be provided via email and Word documents\, in Hebrew letters as well as in transliteration. DESCRIPTION:Learn conversational Hebrew in a small group setting. This course is designed for beginners to the Hebrew language or those who need a good refresher. Over eight sessions\, you will learn important vocabulary\, grammar\, and common phrases and sentences/questions using exercises. Each student must purchase the textbook: Hebrew from Scratch Part 1 (which can be found on Amazon for $59). The book uses quotations from all eras of Hebrew writing and has a Hebrew-English Dictionary which includes all vocabulary and grammatical terminology. Whether you are planning a future trip to Israel or just interested in learning the Hebrew language for your own knowledge\, this course will give you an excellent foundation. \n\n\n\nNote: Minimum number of students is 4; Maximum number is 12.
