His repertoire includes classical operatic arias\, folk songs\, and popular music from different cultures. He has performed on prestigious stages throughout Europe and North America\, captivating audiences with the depth of his interpretations and the warmth of his voice. \nAnna Kusner is an internationally acclaimed classical guitarist and a graduate of the Gnessin Academy. For over 35 years\, she has taught classical guitar and has appeared on radio and television in Israel\, as well as at international music festivals. Anna is a co-founder of the MusAlliance duo\, renowned for its original arrangements of classical and folk music. Her playing is distinguished by virtuosity\, refined musical taste\, and emotional expressiveness. \nPeter Omelchenko is a graduate of the Gnessin Academy of Music\, a virtuoso performer and arranger. For many years\, he was a soloist with the Osipov State Russian Folk Orchestra\, touring extensively around the world. He arrived in the United States as an “artist of extraordinary ability” and has conducted the Washington Russian Folk Orchestra.\nCurrently\, he is the founder of the East-West Cultural Center in Baltimore and maintains an active concert career. \nJerome Kava\nHailing from a longstanding international lineage of artists and musicians\, Jerome has been performing around the world since childhood. A graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts and the Depaul University School of Music\, Jerome has worked and performed in Chicago since 2005\, and for the past decade has been performing with both national and international tours of award-winning musicals such as West Side Story\, Annie\, Bridges of Madison County\, Kinky Boots\, and Dear Evan Hansen\, as well as touring internationally the Symphonic Celebration of the music of Prince\, and the First North American tour of Naruto: The Symphonic Experience. An expansive collaborator and chamber musician\, Jerome has performed with the likes of Yo-yo Ma\, Sarah McLachlan\, Josh Groban\, and Streetlight Manifesto. DESCRIPTION:Sundays\, December 14\, January 11\, February 8\, March 811:30 AM-1:30 PM \n\n\n\nWhether you are prepping for your high school productions\, summer productions\, or college auditions\, come elevate your performance through our workshops to expand your repertoire and build on your acting skills. \n\n\n\nExplore the workshops individually or sign up for all 4! No experience is necessary to participate. Please contact Eila if you need help selecting materials or have questions about the workshops. Workshops are for 8th-12th graders. \n\n\n\nThe JCCCT Audition Portfolio Workshops are hosted by Maeve Nash\, the Fine Arts Projects Educational Specialist for FCPS\, Program Director for the National Capital Area Cappies\, and former high school theatre teacher! \n\n\n\nWorkshops: We recommend you join all for all four workshops to ensure you have a full\, well-rehearsed portfolio and we ask that you bring your own monologues and songs to work on. \n\n\n\n\nContemporary Monologue Workshop (Sunday\, Dec. 14\, 2025):Learn techniques for performing modern monologues! In this workshop\, you will have the chance to improve\, polish\, or begin working on a modern comedic or dramatic monologue. Please bring 1 or 2 monologues from the 20th or 21st century that you may want to perform in a future audition. Register\n\n\n\nSong Workshop (Sunday\, Jan. 11\, 2026):Learn how to act through song! In this workshop\, you will learn techniques for acting while you sing. Please bring 16-32 bars from a song of your choice (preferably from a musical) and prepare to improve your musical audition skills. Register\n\n\n\nClassical Monologue Workshop (Sunday\, Feb. 8\, 2026):Learn more about performing classical monologues! In this workshop\, you will learn tips for how to find meaning in and convey old language to modern audiences. Please bring 1 or 2 monologues written prior to the 20th century. Shakespeare and Moliere are good examples of classical playwrights. Register\n\n\n\nFull Audition Workshop (Sunday\, Mar. 8\, 2026):Finalize your portfolio! In this workshop\, you will rehearse all of your pieces in succession for feedback and work on improving and polishing your finalized portfolio. Register\n\n\n\n\nCost for all 4 workshops: $150 for Pozez JCC Members/ $190 for Non-membersCost per workshop: $40 Member/ $50 Non-members
