Brand-new students must be assessed by the instructor prior to class. \n\n\n\nWednesday\, July 9-August 13 (6 weeks)7:30 PM-9:00 PMInstructor: Sigi Saadia \n\n\n\nThis class will help you learn the alphabet including vowels\, important vocabulary\, grammar\, and common phrases and sentences/questions using a variety of resources. \n\n\n\nEach student must purchase the textbook\, “Hebrew from Scratch Part 1” (available on Amazon or Abe Books). The book uses quotations from all eras of Hebrew writing and has a Hebrew-English Dictionary which includes all vocabulary and grammatical terminology and is used in all levels of classes. \n\n\n\nWhether you are planning a future trip to Israel or interested in learning the Hebrew language for your own knowledge\, this course will give you an excellent foundation. DESCRIPTION:Wesley Seidner is a high school student who has loved baseball his entire life. With a grandfather who survived the Holocaust\, he was always aware of his Jewish heritage but never showed much interest. Wesley started writing this manuscript just after his bar mitzvah in 8th grade and it is his first book. \n\n\n\n“This is not just a collection of stories about great Jewish athletes; it’s also the story of my journey into Judaism over the past two years\, explored through my unique passion for baseball and its Jewish players. From interviews with players to rooting for Team Israel to playing baseball in Israel\, this is my story.” \n\n\n\nJoin Wesley as he shares his enthusiasm for America’s favorite pastime and the Jewish players here and abroad who make it great. \n\n\n\nLight refreshments will be served. Following the screening\, there will be an opportunity to join discussion circles focused on different aspects of that impact in our own community and exploring possible responses. \n\n\n\nDiscussion topics include:• How to have difficult conversations with our friends\, colleagues and neighbors about October 7th and beyond?• How can we support our students?
