SUMMARY:Artist Reception with Maya Nadison
DESCRIPTION:ArtWorks: To Teach\, To Connect\, To Spark Change by Maya Nadison \n\n\n\nJoin us for the opening reception of ArtWorks: To Teach\, To Connect\, To Spark Change\, a new exhibition by Maya Nadison. Enjoy wine\, dessert\, and an evening of creativity as you meet the artist and explore a powerful collection of works that highlight art’s ability to educate\, connect\, and inspire transformation. \n\n\n\nThrough puppetry\, sculpture\, illustrations\, and graphic novels\, Nadison invites us to see how art can distill complex ideas\, foster empathy\, and spark meaningful dialogue. Each piece reflects a moment in her journey where art became a catalyst for healing\, understanding\, and community building—whether by giving voice to difficult conversations\, capturing lived experiences\, or carrying forward cultural heritage. \n\n\n\nFrom wood carvings and papier-mâché figures to sketchnotes and digital illustrations\, ArtWorks demonstrates that art is more than expression—it is action. It teaches\, it empowers\, and it sparks change. \n\n\n\nComplimentary admission | RSVP required

SUMMARY:Bodzin Art Gallery Special Event: Meet the Artist
DESCRIPTION:Reception\, meet the artist\, and flute performance \n\n\n\nIlana Hever is an artist and psychotherapist\, with a background in art\, philosophy\, and psychology. She lives among trees and lakes and paints the impressions that meet the eye. Ilana analyzes the symbolism and the philosophy that objects of nature send us. \n\n\n\nIlana likes to walk among nature and people to make her own photos and transfer them to canvas. Then\, she invites us to step through the doorway of the canvas and enter the world of healing and peace when each picture creates a narrative in and of itself\, that is open to interpretation. \n\n\n\nIlana uses oil paint and her style takes inspiration from impressionism’s small visible brushstrokes. \n\n\n\nIlana’s exhibit\, “Joyful Journey with People\, Places\, and Nature” will be on display in the Bodzin Art Gallery from March 21-May 6\, 2024.
