SUMMARY:Toward A More Perfect Union: American Jews and American Democracy
DESCRIPTION:The Third Annual Distinguished Lecture in Judaic Studies at George Mason University with Aaron Dorfman\, Executive Director of A More Perfect Union: The Jewish Partnership for Democracy \n\n\n\nJews have it better in America than anywhere else in the Jewish Diaspora in the last 2\,000 years\, success that’s primarily a function of this country’s long tradition of liberal democracy. America’s democratic norms and institutions — religious freedom\, the rule of law\, freedom of association\, and others — have created an enabling environment in which Jewish life has thrived. But democracy doesn’t take care of itself\, and in moments like this\, when American democracy faces grave threats\, the Jewish community — in all its ideological and denominational diversity — has an enlightened self-interest in protecting and strengthening it.  \n\n\n\nCo-sponsored by GMU Judaic Studies Program\, Mason Hillel and The Pozez JCC \n\n\n\nQuestions? Please email judaics@gmu.edu.

SUMMARY:Women's Social Impact Group/WSIG (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special day of crafting to support Kids Giving Back\, a local nonprofit which helps children in need. We’ll be creating no-sew Paw Patrol costumes for pre-K aged children. To support this meaningful initiative\, we kindly ask for a donation of $15 per participant to help cover the cost of supplies. Your contribution will directly impact our ability to create these costumes and spread happiness to children in our community. We will come together to create\, share\, and give back to those who need it most. Led by Karen Sokol. \n\n\n\nFee: Donate $15 here to cover cost of supplies. \n\n\n\nTo register\, click on the link below. If it is your first time volunteering with the J\, you’ll need to create an account on our Volunteer Portal which will also display other volunteer opportunities.
