SUMMARY:VolunteerFest 2025 with Volunteer Fairfax
DESCRIPTION:Pack Meals. Build Community. Make a Difference. \n\n\n\nFor 30 years\, VolunteerFest has brought together hundreds of people each fall for a day of action\, connection\, and real impact in Northern Virginia. This year\, we are setting our sights high with a goal to pack 75\,000 nutritious meals to help fight hunger in our community. If you are not packing meals\, select the “Community Fair Only” option. Food packing is appropriate for adults and children 10 years and older. All children and teens under age 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult. No more than two children per adult can be registered.

SUMMARY:Pozez JCC & American Red Cross Blood Drive
DESCRIPTION:Every day\, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims\, heart surgery and organ transplant patients\, and those battling cancer. In fact\, every two seconds\, someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is likely that you or someone you know will need a blood transfusion in your lifetime. \n\n\n\nDue to recent drastic shortfalls of donations over the last several weeks\, donors of all blood types are critically needed\, especially those with type O blood. \n\n\n\nThe blood donation process from the time you arrive until the time you leave takes about an hour. The donation itself is only about 8-10 minutes on average. In order to qualify for whole blood donation\, you must be in good health and feeling well\, at least 16 years of age (with signed parental consent) and weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional eligibility criteria apply\, including certain medications\, medical conditions\, travel to certain countries\, and personal history.  \n\n\n\nPre-registered participants only. No walk-ins. Blood drive will be located in the auditorium. \n\n\n\nSign up here.
