SUMMARY:Volunteer Services Presents: Power Packs at Food for Others
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly community service event at a local food bank. Each month\, we will gather at Food for Others Warehouse in Fairfax to help sort and pack food items\, creating ‘power packs’ for local schools. No experience is needed—just a willingness to lend a hand and passion to help. Come be a part of this initiative\, help us spread kindness in our community and enjoy conversation with fellow volunteers!  \n\n\n\nRSVP in advance so we can provide Food for Others an attendance estimate seven days prior to each session. \n\n\n\nParking is very limited\, carpooling is encouraged. SUMMARY:Pozez JCC & American Red Cross Blood Drive
DESCRIPTION:Every day\, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims\, heart surgery and organ transplant patients\, and those battling cancer. In fact\, every two seconds\, someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is likely that you or someone you know will need a blood transfusion in your lifetime.  \n\n\n\nDue to recent drastic shortfalls of donations over the last several weeks\, donors of all blood types are critically needed\, especially those with type O blood. \n\n\n\nThe blood donation process from the time you arrive until the time you leave takes about an hour. The donation itself is only about 8-10 minutes on average. In order to qualify for whole blood donation\, you must be in good health and feeling well\, at least 16 years of age (with signed parental consent) and weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional eligibility criteria apply\, including certain medications\, medical conditions\, travel to certain countries\, and personal history.  \n\n\n\nPre-registered participants only. No walk-ins. Blood drive will be located in the auditorium. \n\n\n\nSign up here.

DESCRIPTION:It is almost time for our annual PAJAMUARY! We are so excited to collect pajamas for those who need them\, that we are kicking it off in December with a morning movie – “Moana.” We will also have our very own “preview” of “Shalom Sesame Chanukah – The Missing Menorah!” Bring a new pair of pajamas\, eat popcorn\, have a soda and hang out with friends at University Mall Theater. \n\n\n\nMovie Begins at 10:00am. Please arrive 15 minutes early to get situated. \n\n\n\nFor every pair of pajamas donated\, the donor will be entered to win a 4-pack of tickets from University Mall Theater. Include your name and email (on a piece of paper) with the pajamas you donate in order to be enter the raffle.
