Breaking Barriers, Building Family
Tuesday, March 4 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Join us for two deeply personal and transformative films that explore love, intimacy, and family in the face of societal prejudice. In As You Are, an interabled queer couple spends the night together for the first time, confronting their complex relationships with desire, sexuality, and bodily autonomy, while discovering what it truly means to love another person.
Meanwhile, in Loud Love (Alan and Brian’s story), a deaf gay couple pursues parenthood through international surrogacy, raising two hearing children while challenging ongoing discrimination. Both stories delve into the complexities of love, relationships, and identity, shedding light on the resilience required to overcome prejudice and build meaningful, loving connections. After the screening, join us for a conversation on what it means to be both LGBTQ and disabled.
